Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) today declares Chiranyu Amin as the new interim IPL Commissioner in the IPL Governing Council that meeting held in Mumbai. Lalit Modi is out from the IPL Commissioner position.
Chiranyu Amin is a Vice President in BCCI and a member in IPL Governing Council. BCCI President Shashank Manohar in the meeting said that, he was not at all by the Lalit Modi’s explanation on the entire IPL controversy. BCCI President also said that their are many important documents missing from the IPL and BCCI Offices.
“We are no happy with the Modi’s explanation on the issue, if he convince the Governing Council then we can drop enquiry proceedings against him,” BCCI President Shashank Manohar added.
Mr. Manohar also said that BCCI has set up a committee to decide modalities for IPl 4. This Committee comprises of Sunil Gavaskar, Ravi Shastri and Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi. From now on Ratnakar Shetty will look into the Financial matters of IPL.
Mr Manohar also added that, “Modi’s suspension was important for a non-partisan probe. Many documents asked or sought by Income Tax Department missing from IPL and BCCI offices from Mumbai. Probe will be launched into finding missing IPL bidding papers.”
