Bharatiya Janta Party walked out of the Lok Sabha on Tuesday when Sports Minister MS Gill started his speech on the Commonwealth Games.
The walk out was led by Leader of Opposition Sushma Swaraj. They took this step on Gill’s remarks that MPs who would like to know the cost of the CWG stadiums can get it through a Right to Information application.
Sports Minister of India MS Gill assured the members of the Parliament that nothing would be hidden or covered from anyone regarding the expenses occurred in organizing CWG.
Replying to a debate in Lok Sabha on Commonwealth Games, Sports Minister MS Gill said, “We are ready to consider any kind of inquiry after October 15. Our government will continue to be there after October 15. Let the focus at present be on the sportspersons when the games are not far off”. “Nothing will be hidden from anyone” Gill added.
Gill’s hour long reply on the issue was repeatedly interrupted by Opposition members on the queries on allegations if corruption and diversion of funds.
