Indian side’s top ranking may not be a big deal but injuries hit the squad badly. In this situation selection decision might be a difficult task for the selector as India goes into the last and final third test against Sri Lanka starting from Tuesday in Colombo. India would really hoping to avoid a series defeat.
Remember Indians are trailing 0-1 against Sri Lanka in this test series. So no draw, no losing but an outright victory in the only option for the side to square the series.
Gautam Gambir is also ruled out of third test as he is not fit due to his knee injury. Suresh Raina’s century on his debut made difficult for Yuvraj’s position uncertain in the team as he is down with flu and is uncertain for the third test.
In the third and final test if Sachin plays then he will become the most capped player in Test cricket surpassing Steve Waugh’s record in his 169th Test.
Batting is not the main concern for Indian side as they managed to score whooping 707 in the last test. But the thing which is really a matter of concern is bowling department.
