Periyar University was established by Government of Tamil Nadu in the year 1997. The university is named after Renowned social reformer called ” Thanthai Periyar “. The University is situated on the Bangalore National Highway (NH-47) which is 10 Kms from Salem City with 100 acres of campus.

It is an extension center of Madras University in three departments i.e. (Commerce, Geology, Mathematics). The university is accredited by NAAC.

Periyar University has declared results for UG Examinations which were conducted in December 2009. The Results can be checked from here..
