Board of Technical Education Uttar Pradesh was established in the state in May, 1958. At the time of establisment it was known as “State Board Of Technical Education and Training”. The board started functioning from that time and conducted their first examination in 1960,for courses of diploma level Course. The name of the state Board was changed to “Board Of Technical Education” in 1962.

Pre-University Course also known as PUC is a examination which is conducted by Karnataka Education Board for the admission in U.G. Courses for the state of Karnataka. PUC Exam was held in March, 2010.over 6 lac students appeared for PUC 2010.
