The people of India will celebrate its 64th Independence Day with great pomp and show. Independence Day of India is celebrated on 15th August every year to celebrate the freedom of our country from British rule, who ruled our country for more than 200 years.
People of India are geared up to celebrate the day which will be celebrated on 15th August. Nation wide alert has been issued following the independence day and 8000 security jawans ahve been deployed in National Capital itself.
New Delhi is converted into fortress as 8000 security personnels have been deployed their and the security for government buildings and national monuments have also been increased.
On the occasion, Prime Minister of India Dr. Manmohan Singh will hoist the National Flag at historical site, Red Fort. He’ll also address the nation on his governments achievements and regarding upcoming projects.
Flag hosting ceremony is also observed across the country and Flag is hosted by all States Chief Ministers in their respective state capital.

The 1st ODI between India vs New Zealand is being played at this time in Dambulla. This tri-series will be played between India, Sri Lanka and New Zealand. India and New Zealand haven’t played with each other for a quit some time from now.
In this match both the teams i.e. India and New Zealand missed their key player. Vettori, Ryder and Mccullum were out of the team and Indians missed Ishant Sharma due to his ankle injury.
In this match New Zealand won the toss and decided to bat first on the pitch which helps fast bowlers at Dambulla. New Zealand can’t get the best of start and their 3 wickets were down at only 28 runs. After that a New Zealand’s Captain Ross Taylor and senior player Scott Styris played sensible innings and added 190 runs on the board before Styris got out to Ojha. Styris scored 89 and Ross Taylor scored 95.

Bharatiya Janta Party walked out of the Lok Sabha on Tuesday when Sports Minister MS Gill started his speech on the Commonwealth Games.
The walk out was led by Leader of Opposition Sushma Swaraj. They took this step on Gill’s remarks that MPs who would like to know the cost of the CWG stadiums can get it through a Right to Information application.
Sports Minister of India MS Gill assured the members of the Parliament that nothing would be hidden or covered from anyone regarding the expenses occurred in organizing CWG.
Replying to a debate in Lok Sabha on Commonwealth Games, Sports Minister MS Gill said, “We are ready to consider any kind of inquiry after October 15. Our government will continue to be there after October 15. Let the focus at present be on the sportspersons when the games are not far off”. “Nothing will be hidden from anyone” Gill added.
Gill’s hour long reply on the issue was repeatedly interrupted by Opposition members on the queries on allegations if corruption and diversion of funds.

A foreign cargo ship named ‘MSC Chitra’ which collided with another ship about 10 kms off Mumbai harbour on Saturday, has tilted further on the third consecutive day. Navy and Coast Guards are in the process to protect the sea from oil spill.
MSC Chitra tilted 80 degrees; spilling nearly 50 tonnes of oil have spilled into the water which has affected the life of animals in the water. About 300 contained have been tumbled into water, Commandant (Operations), Coast Guard Mr. Arun Singh said to reporters.
Chief Minister of Maharashtra Ashok Chavan is worried by this incident and said to reporters that, this is a serious issue. Government has already filed cases against the captains of the two ships which are from abroad. Chavan also said that he is going to have an aerial look at the accident site. All efforts are done to contain oil leak as far as possible, CM added.
Earlier on Saturday, Two Panamanian cargo ships named MSC Chitra and MV Khalijia-111 collided about 10 kms off Mumbai harbour, which caused an oil spill from one of the vessel.
A total of 32 crew members including two Pakistanis were rescused from the accident site. Navy and the Coast Guard are doing best efforts to neutralise the oil spill. They also carried out anti-pollution operations and has also done some chemical spraying on the effects region in the water.
